Indian sugar / Original sweet

In olden days there are two ways to feel the taste sweet: one is honey and the next is jaggery.

Honey : I hope everybody knows about how honey is produced and its value, purity, natural, benefits etc., etc.,
Jaggery: it is also a natural product given by god through the way from farmers.  Now, today's world all are using white sugar and you people are know about its production and how it spoils our health.

Now, come to the point, nowadays all are aware on their health, and search the good alternative food to get a better health and make the next generation will become more healthier than us. So, we already replace the sugar container to jaggery / naatu sarkarai / vellam/ karuppatti/ . These are the original and healthiest sweeteners and easily available in the market,.

Because india is the manufacturer, producer, exporter, etc, we are the origin for it. to know more about it: How it is produced? what are all the types? how it is prepared? and its benefits:

Initially we know about it's types:
1. from coconut tree : we call it as "Thennang karuppatti" the process is fully natural.
When  a coconut tree starts to give flower (thennampoo) from thennampaalai, we make a cut on its final stem of  the flower - which is near the middle of the paalai, before branching of flowers start. and it give a liquid (which will be the tender coconut and coconut water in future if we did not cut it), it is not an instant process we have to collect the liquid in containers,  for that we bend the paalai into the container and cover it fully. then collect it often and store it to make "Thennang karuppatti" we call the liquid as "Thezhuvu", it has a lot of medicinal benefits for all age people. By boiling the liquid we get the "Thennang karuppatti".

2. From Palm Tree:  we call it as "Panag karuppatti" this is also the same preparation as like " Thennang karuppatti", it's aroma is very nice and it is more cooler than "Thennang karuppatti".

So replace the regular coffee with sukku kaapi or malli kaapi(dhaniya powder),  milk with naattu sarkarai and turmeric powder on every night, prepare all the sweets with karuppatti, i'll update the sweets made up of karuppatti in another blog(Tamil foods) for you.


Both of the above contains iron, zinc, potassium, magnesium and more coolant properties. And it is one of the best antioxidants also balance the insulin in our body and blood sugar level too, diabetic people must  have this on regularly without any hesitation. it has high in calorie  so little amount of consumption is enough for all age people.

i want to tell one important knowledge about sugar level for everybody's body. what ever the food we consume it will convert to energy in the form of good blood. the "glycemic index" value of each food tells how fast the food tends to raise blood sugar level of a person.

The higher glycemic index value foods leads to more hunger, irritation on body parts, feeling very dull and lethargy, gives stress, mood out etc., And the lower glycemic index value foods make us comfortable in all aspects. our regular white sugar has the value more than 50 and jaggery has less than 35.
